Kendall College students formed the first Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association (HSMAI) International collegiate chapter in Illinois in 2010 and the first Meeting Planning International (MPI) collegiate chapter in Illinois in 2009.
Retired Professor Glen Ramsborg, Ph.D., CMP, was recognized as Education Honoree at the PCMA Education Foundation Dinner Honoring Professional Achievement in 2011.
Associate Professor Sue Tinnish, Ph.D., was selected to serve as U.S. Chair for the International Standards Organization (ISO) effort to develop worldwide sustainable events management system.
Kendall College School of Hospitality Management Assistant Professor Dr. Sue Tinnish and Associate Professor Sapna Mangal received the World Education Congress' (WEC) "Best Paper" award for a paper they co-wrote on sustainable event marketing in July, 2012.

Kendall College is the only four-year college in Illinois and one of a select few nationwide to offer both a Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education, uniquely positioning the college to merge its expertise from these two programs and offer a childhood nutrition concentration in the School of Education.

Kendall College School of Business was the first college to partner with the "Jobs For Youth/Chicago Bridge Program," giving greater access to post-secondary education to disadvantaged Chicago youth.

Chef-instructor Dina Altieri, CEC, CCE, was named the American Culinary Federation's Chef Educator of the Year in 2011.
Chef-instructor Dana Cox received the 2011 Catherine Brandel Scholarship from Women Chefs & Restaurateurs (WCR) and was the recipient of Olson Communications' fourth-annual Chefs of Tomorrow™ grant program for culinary educators.
Chef-instructor Eric Stein, M.S., R.D., and alumna/advisory board member Chef Jaime Mestan, C.S.C., took first place in the inaugural Professional Culinology® Competition in 2012.
Chef-instructor Melina Kelson-Podolsky, was honored with a 2012 Leadership Award from Modern Baking magazine in the Industry Service category.
Chef-instructor and assistant professor Heidi Hedeker, MA/MSW, was awarded her master-baker certification (CMB) from Retail Bakers of America (RBA) in 2013. She is the second CMB teaching at Kendall College.
School of Culinary Arts students have won the S.Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef North Central Regional Competition for three consecutive years since 2010.
School of Culinary Arts students won the Central Regional Baron H. Galand Culinary Knowledge Bowl at the American Culinary Federation's (ACF) Central Regional Conference for the fifth straight time in 2014 and first runners up at nationals in 2013.
Marco Bahena won the S.Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef National Competition in 2011, and was the recipient of the 2nd Edition of Sammic Scholarships through BasqueStage™, earning him an all-expenses-paid six-month internship at a three-Michelin-star restaurant in Spain.
Uyen (Nina) Nguyen won the first-ever Michelin Scholarship for Culinary Excellence in May 2011 and a stage at Eric Ripert's three-Michelin-star Le Bernadin in New York City.
Jennifer Kim won the S.Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef National Competition in Napa Valley, California in 2012. This was the fourth time that a Kendall College student has won the national competition, which is a record, and the second consecutive win by a student enrolled at Kendall.
Culinary Students, Myra Viviana Proano and Danielle Welch, were awarded Scholarships from the Chicago chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI) at a champagne reception on campus on May 14, 2013.
